My Endo called this week to inform me that my IGF, Insulin Growth Factor, was 186, it was 1,111 prior to my surgery. The normal range is 70-306. Drum roll please... MY SURGERY WAS SUCCESSFUL!!!

The only oddity in my results was that my testosterone levels were low-normal but still within an acceptable range.  They will continue to monitor. In trying to put together a picture timeline, I realized that I'm not in too many photos. I guess having children puts me on the other side of the camera most of time. It was the later part of 2006 (Sep/Oct) that I really began noticing my facial changes. Now that I getting out and about more often, the comment I keep hearing is that I don't look like I've just had surgery... particularly brain surgery. They speculate that the lumbar drain used to control the pressure in my head may have allowed blood to enter the area near the incision. That's as much as I understand at the moment.

The momentum after the decision and surgery was scheduled, it was all I could do to just keep pace with it.
